I'm planning a baby shower for my friend Rachael, and being the perfectionista that I am, wanted to do a dry run of one of the many desserts we'll be showering mama-to-be with. Plus, it was raining this weekend and let's be honest, what is better than the sound of raindrops and the smell of cupcakes?

I got the idea for these mini bird cupcakes from the DIY queen herself, Martha. A little toasted coconut, some frosting, a makeshift piping bag, and mini dot sprinkles, and voila! Mini bird cupcakes, yes? And because I'm not coconut's biggest fan, I rounded the day out and made some chocolate ones as well.
